How many of you add captions or shoot details to your on line portfolio images? If so, what do you include? Tech info? Client and end usage info? An inside story / behind-the-scenes anecdote from the shoot? Nothing at all... let the image stand on it's own?

On my website I don't caption. On some of the forums I captioned some, but as I added more, I decided to let the images just "speak for themselves".

I used to put down the agency on any particular image but I soon found out "friends" were going to them behind my back and low balling them. Now I just put the end user/client and the media where it will be reproduced; things I think I would want to see if I was an art buyer or CD.

Art Buyers generally prefer no caption or a hidden one they can access if they choose to.

I have had clients tell me they don't want captions. They prefer to just see the photograph and have their own thoughts or feelings about it. In my store section, I add where and when the photo was taken along with print information.

I often show captions such as brief information about me.
It really helps.

Have fun
