I'm on the verge of buying an Epson 4880 but would sure love to hear from anyone with first hand experience before I do.
Since a refill of all the ink cartridges is several hundred dollars, how much mileage do you get? Is the ink well used or do they cartridges need replacing too frequently?
On paper, I'm printing for galleries, no gloss. I've been using an enhanced matte paper. Which papers have you used on this printer? _________________ James Cook

Hi James
\I dont have a 4880 but I have the 4800 with ImagePrint and love it. Got it used a few months ago with a couple of the ink warning LED's flashing so I got a replacement set for £55 each. Still havent had to load them in yet. Not sure when it will actually run out. The printing quality has been great as well. I'm using Brilliant pearl and matte as well as Hahnemule PhotoRag and they have been spot on using the IP profiles.

Thanks for that.
I did a lot of online research n the meantime and it appears that with few exceptions, the Epsons are very efficient with their ink.
Then a strange thing happened. My wife got in on the research and decided I should get the bigger 7880. _________________ James Cook
